Kids Activity 1: Treasure Hunt

Having a Treasure Hunt is possibly the most FUN activity for you and your child to enjoy, even though you have to do a little bit of preparation hiding the clues and treasures.

If you aren't sure what to hide you could hide anything from toy cars to coins or even chocolate. You can also google readymade treasure hunts and start with one of those.

This will keep your children busy for hours and also keep them active, running around the garden to find the treasures. Also, the excitement of finding treasure is the ultimate fun for children of all ages!

This type of activity has lots of benefits too, but the main benefit is that it enables all of those important Critical Skills needed for home, school and life, supporting your child's education, health and future.

The Critical Skills Needed For The Ultimate GROWTH Mindset!

  • Exploration
  • Discovery
  • Problem Solving
  • Bouncing Back
  • Communication
  • Helping Others
  • Organisation ... And So Many More!

Remember to have FUN together as a family and TURN OFF all technology and distractions around YOU!!!

Kids Activity 2: Yoga

If you prefer a more calming but FUN exercise for you and your child, you could do a simple activity like Yoga. This can help your child to increase concentration levels in school and in general.

Also, it can teach them to use their body in a healthy way, it is a good foundation for a lifelong, healthy and active lifestyle.

Now it’s time to lay out some Yoga mats, put on some soothing music, look at our FUNDA yoga exercises and begin the process of inner peace with your children.

Kids Activity 3: Hide & Seek

Hide & Seek is an amazing and FUN game that your child won’t get bored of. A child probably couldn't think of anything better than running around the house or garden trying to find the best hiding place.

To add a twist to the game of hide and seek; you could hide from your child and leave a little trail behind, so they can find you. If you have multiple children it would be a great idea to offer prizes for the winner it’s always good to have some sibling rivalry.

Kids Activity 4: Family Sports Day

If your child loves Sports Day at school why not bring sports day to your home by creating one of your own in the garden! Parents VS Kids or Boys VS Girls? If you need more team players to get your family and friends involved.

You can have relay races, nerf fights, water fights (if it's summer), egg and spoon race, sack race, tug of war and many more FUN activities for you and your family and friends to enjoy.

Activity 5: Movement Skills Activity Dice

FUNDA Movement Activity Dices is a FUN way for your kids to get up and get active, roll the dice and whatever activity you land on you have to do.

Write down activities on a homemade dice or you could download and print your FREE online FUNDA Movement Activity Dice and use that!

On the dice, there are many Gross Motor Skills, known as the FUNDAmental Movement Skills (FMS) these are so important for your child's Physical Development.

Your child's teacher must now teach the FUNDAmental Movement Skills as part of their PE Curriculum, play your part to help your child master all these important skills.

FUNDAmental Movement Skills (FMS):

  • Jump
  • Run
  • Crawl
  • Reach
  • Bounce
  • Hop
  • Walk like a crab ... And So Many More!

When the game begins, take turns rolling the dice, and whatever exercise it lands on you and your child then completes that skill, you can also link this activity to other areas of your child's learning/ curriculum for example (Maths) etc.

The fact is so many children today spend more time sitting and less time doing, children today spend more time indoors than prison inmates.

Computers, tech and mobile devices are taking over, now is the time to get your child ACTIVE developing those all-important FUNDAmental Movement Skills (FMS).

The adult can play our part to; ENGAGE, INSPIRE, MOTIVATE & EMPOWER our children to love and enjoy being ACTIVE in a FUN meaningful way.
